Hello LiveJournal. It has been a while.
I haven't died or anything. I still read everyone's journals; I just don't update my own. I AM ALIVE.
What's happened lately? Divine Chaos played a show with Exodus. We've also played a couple of other shows. Some where it was awesome, others where it sucks and we got fucked over/had to be quiet.
I got a Zune and it is thoroughly amazing. iPods suck. Right Emily?
Speaking of Emily, she finally came up to DC again and visited me again. Unfortunately, she forgot her camera.
I have been playing a lot of games lately. Bioshock, Orange Box, Forza 2, Mass Effect, Saint's Row.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl was disappointing. Some aspects of it are cool, but I much prefer Melee.
Grand Theft Auto 4 is disappointing so far. Not to say that it is bad, but the camera and controls are kind of strange/sloppy/annoying. The art direction is nothing short of astounding though. I haven't gotten too far into it, so I'm giving it more time.
I have been working full time at Best Buy this semester rather than taking classes. I've gotten the MVP award of my department two quarters in a row now. I'm really enjoying it there. Come visit me?
I went to Gigantour last weekend which was great. Not the best shows In Flames or Children of Bodom have put on, but I had a good time. Megadeth was great.
Speaking of In Flames and Bodom, their new albums owned and sucked, respectively.
I think that is everything? How has everybody been?

Ionno. I've been getting angrier a lot more lately. And more easily. To the point where my friends have been noticing too, and calling me out on it. Or I'll mention it, and whoever is with me agrees. But like, I kind of like it. It almost...energizes me, so to speak. I like the feeling of just getting pissed off about something silly and trivial, and ranting about it. Whether it's someone on the road, music, a video game, whatever. It's a different kind of anger than I have when I really get pissed; I don't have the urge to punch something and my vision doesn't blur. But I still find it weird that I almost encourage myself to get angry, rather than mentally reprimand myself as I used to. Sometime, I'd love to be able to convey that anger into writing some music, but it's quite difficult to write much of anything without some basic knowledge of an instrument with pitch. Anyway, yeah. Anger. Fun stuff.

Speaking of more, there are SO many games out that I want. Mass Effect, the Orange Box, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Zack and Wiki(PEDIA LOLOLOL). Yay for video games costing so much. Brawl comes out in February. February is gonna be a fucking busy month for me. God damn.

Hey! I'm not dead. But too much has happened in the past month or so, that I don't feel like explaining it all. Divine Chaos played a show with Sonata Arctica and Firewind. It was loads of fun. Then it was my birthday. Then Jade and I went to visit my friends at ODU. I don't think anything too spectacular happened in the last two weeks, short of me (finally) getting a job (at Best Buy). I'm probbaly getting my Xbox 360 within the next week or two. And I'm getting an R4DS very shortly as well. Oh money, how I missed thee.
Nightwish is fucking amazing. I need more of their music.

Lessee. School's been alright. Little to no homework, so fuck yeah. I believe I owned the shit out of a pop quiz in psych today.
The house is a fucking mess. We're almost done with the renovations, but the cleaning is far from done.
I helped my dad pick out an LCD TV. Sharp 46" with 3 HDMI inputs (cable, DVD, my future XBOX360). Tight shit.
Oh yeah we played a show on Thursday. We also sucked. Meanwhile, we have another one next Friday (9/14) at Strangeland Records.
My Internet is completely fucked up, but it's okay because I got METROID PRIME 3. WHICH IS FUCKING AMAZING.

Went to the beach with Jade, my family, the Fosters, and Maida. It was a lot of fun. We rode wave runners, went swimmin, collected shells, drank, and went swimming some more. AND ATE.
Aldo, his brother, Julia, and I went to see Dream Theater and Into Eternity last Teusday. It was quite an amazing show. Into Eternity are really cool guys and I'm looking forward to seeing them again with Edguy next month.

So we played a show last night at Jaxx. It was amazing, one of our best shows yet.
In the morning, I drove Aldo, Alex, and myself to Guitar Center (I broke both heads on my snare, and I needed to replace the snares as well. And my tom heads). Alex wasn't planning on getting anything. Instead, he got a BITCHIN' new guitar. I got a set of EC2 heads for my toms, which I will replace shortly. I've been interested to try them out for a while. They dampen ringiness more than my current coated Generas, so we'll see. I bet none of you except probably ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) heirtoruin knows nor is interested in what I was just babbling about.
After the show, a large group of us went out to eat at an AMAZING restaurant, then some of us went to Turkey's. I'm still tired from last night.

In Flames - Reroute to Remain |

I want to write music so badly. Not just drums, but everything. Compose entire songs, albums. By myself (no offense to Divine Chaos). I've been listening to CDs lately that have made me really want to expand upon my music playing. I need to make more of an effort in learning guitar and keyboards. And practice writing lyrics more.
We played the pool show on Friday. It was alright. Last year's was better. Playing shows with a miniature kit is just freaking weird. It's fun and all, but I much prefer being surrounded. I don't know exactly why I love having so many things around me when I drum. Of course, part of it is the fact that I enjoy having more different sounds to work with. I don't know. I like designing new sets. I need to redo mine again. I'm bored with it. Perhaps I'll do it when I rebuild it after the Jaxx show. I need a rack terribly bad.
Almost all of my favorite bands have/will be releasing new CDs this year. I'm so excited. So far they've been pretty good, except Sonata Arctica.
I think I have used this Subject line before. I missed In Flames.

I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday. It kind of hurts. But seeing Jade yesterday was especially wonderful.
She and I hung out with Mike and Stephanie Saturday night, which was extraordinarily fun.
My dad got me the new Sonata Arctica CD. It isn't anything special. But I am on painkillers so maybe I am not fully paying attention.
The pool show (7/20!) is gonna be fun as shit. If you wanna come see us at Jaxx (7/28), let me know and I will sell you a ticket for ten bucks.
I really love my girlfriend. Fifteen months today!

So. Haven't updated in a while again. I never feel compelled to update anyway, though I still read my Friend's Page fairly often. Let's see, what to write about.
Jade has been in Oklahoma since Wednesday. I miss her. BTW, we've been together for almost fourteen months now. Pretty incredible.
I got the new Dream Theater CD finally. At first I was pretty disappointed with all but one track (The Ministry of Lost Souls), but it has grown on me a lot more (except Constant Mition, but I like it a little more now than before). In the Presence of Enemies is a wonderful song, though it is no A Change of Seasons. The drums aren't quite as fun as Octavarium (one of my favorite drum albums), unfortunately. But yeah, it's alright. 7.5/10? I also bought tickets yesterday for Aldo, Alex, Julia, and me to see Dream Theater in Baltimore on August 14. Rad.
Pokemon. I don't need to go into it. Most of you don't particularly care anyhow.
I'm going to NOVA in the fall. But only for the fall. I'm heading back to ODU in the spring. I think all of us attending NOVA should get together and register for classes so we can be study buddies or something. :D?
Divine Chaos has a few shows lined up right now. We are playing at Hayfield Farms Pool on July 20 (sans Aldo, for he is in Bolivia) and at Jaxx on July 28 (with Aldo). That's kinda cool. Come see us maybe?
